MicroStream® - Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM) Process was originally invented for deburring and finishing of the critical aircraft hydraulic and fuel system components.
Today aerospace manufacturing specifications require more parts to be AFM´d = Abrasive Flow Machined than ever before.
Some of the major aircraft and stationery engine manufacturer are using currently the AFM process for applications like:
Improving airfoil surface condition on compressor and turbine section components following profile milling, casting, EDM or ECM operations.
 
Polishing of all kind of blades is one of the common applications in Aviation industrie.

Edge contouring on Firtrees as well as deburring and polishing of eroded or milled airholes are major are major disciplines for MicroStream® AFM technology.
